About the Author

Elaine Gombos studies computer science and artificial intelligence at Carnegie Mellon University. Passionate about technology, advocacy, education, and the performing arts, she has authored intercultural exchange curricula, written the foreword for a paper published at the World Innovation Summit for Education, become a teaching assistant for CMU computer science classes (discrete math, programming, and computer systems), and interned at Duolingo. An AI4ALL alum and student coordinator, she currently serves as the Head of Education at the Center for Gender Equitable AI. 

Elaine’s leadership has been recognized by the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation, the Elks National Foundation, Navisite’s Next STEMinists, Women at Microsoft, among others.
