About the Author

Phuong Hua is a student at San Jose State University studying Applied Math with a minor in Computer Science. Born in Vietnam and raised in an immigrant family, she is interested in how AI, data, and human-centered design can expand access and opportunity for people whose voices are often overlooked. She has led student workshops on AI as a ChatGPT Ambassador and is active in campus organizations focused on responsible computing and sustainability. Outside of school, she enjoys esports, math, and learning Chinese, and she believes the future of AI should be shaped not only by engineers but also by the communities most affected by it.
