About the Author

Michelle Jiang is a sophomore at Smith College studying Computer Science and Quantitative Economics. She is an AI4ALL alum interested in how technology shapes communities, institutions, and public life. At Smith, she works as a researcher in the Data Infrastructure Group Lab, where she studies software engineering, infrastructure, and abolitionist approaches to technology. Last summer, she worked with Strong Towns Northampton, a civic advocacy nonprofit focused on transportation, housing, and urban planning. There, she developed mapping and data visualization projects related to walkability and community infrastructure in Northampton.
